Strathfield Garbage

in recycling

I had been wanting to get one of the Strathfield garbage trucks in action for over a year before I got this footage; just had a lot of bad luck and the fact that they finish by 7am at the latest on a typical morning had really put me behind. Though, I finally caught up with this one during the busiest day (Monday) in the units area, servicing a heap of 240Ls along a certain stretch of road. I found out the garbage drivers start at 3am, which seems fine with how quiet these Hinos are – the rubbish falling into the hopper is louder! lol Also thought I’d mention how well these 3-year-old (at the time) trucks are maintained; each day they are washed down with recycled water, deodorised with a bubblegum smell and are disinfected, and then they all go through a proper wash once a week. I hope you enjoy the footage of this quiet truck at work, please rate and comment, and a big thanks to the awesome driver, a really friendly bloke who was great to chat to. Body Make: MacDonald Johnston Model: 22m MkIV SPORT : Standard Refuse Body Chassis: Hino FM Council: Strathfield Municipal Contractor: Council Works Collection Type: Garbage / Trash
