Strathfield Greens – An Ancient Truck

There was one stuffed up Tuesday during one of my spring holidays where I visited Strathfield. I’d already missed the garbage trucks so I was praying that I would have some luck with the green-waste collection. After finding some un-serviced streets, I had a feeling WSN would be using an old truck down here… I was right šŸ˜€ A quote from the driver… “It’s as old as Moses”. This ancient side loader has done some big rounds, originally starting off in the City of Ryde under Veolia’s operations. When Veolia lost the Ryde contract, WSN got some of the old trucks and sent them to their Parramatta operations. When Parramatta canned WSN and started with Cleanaway, WSN sent this truck down to Strathfield. Each fortnight this fast truck is down in Strathfield, collecting all the green-waste Monday to Friday. I hope you enjoy the footage of this ancient machine working hard, all ratings and comments are greatly appreciated. I would also like to give an enormous thanks to the driver, he was a very friendly bloke – you’ll see he doesn’t muck around with this truck either. Body Make: MacDonald Johnston Model: 22m MkIII SPORT : Standard Refuse Body Chassis: International Acco Council: Strathfield Municipal Contractor: WSN Environmental Solutions Collection Type: Green-Waste / Vegetation
