The hallmark of Dr. Herbert Ortner’s professional career at Voith was the application of science and fundamental principles to advance papermaking and paper recycling, including flotation de-inking. He combined his vast knowledge of the entire papermaking process with his innovative and creative thinking to develop new processes and to improve existing ones to meet the needs of the industry. While chairman of Bergstrom Paper Company, Nathan Bergstrom provided leadership in the development of new technologies technologies, including significant advances in paper recycling. Richard Pratt – Paper Industry International Hall of Fame

Richard Pratt was chairman of Visy Industries, where he improved their environmentally-friendly operations. Visy’s first paper recycling mill was built in 1979.
