Families looking to find a bit of zen, after the hustle and bustle of shopping and rides, will enjoy spending time in the new Butterfly Bay at Big Green Help EcoPark in Nickelodeon Universe® at Mall of America®. At Butterfly Bay guests will feel like flying away on the wings of a beautiful butterfly and Big Green Help EcoPark will leave them inspired to help save our environment today. There are two primary elements to Butterfly Bay at Big Green Help EcoPark. Guests will enjoy observing 25 different species of butterflies up close and personal in the first element, the 1500 square foot butterfly aviary. The opening of the exhibit will feature Minnesota butterflies. After those butterflies become acclimated to the space, North American butterflies will be added and finally butterflies from around the world. The aviary will also showcase the hatching of beautiful butterflies from the cocoon in emergence cases. Butterflies will be released into the aviary on a weekly basis with nearly 750 butterflies living inside the aviary at any given time. This space will feature hundreds of tropical plants and flowers from around the world including South America, Central America and Southeast Asia provided by Aloha Landscaping and Tropical Plants Unlimited. The second portion is the 4000 square foot Big Green Help EcoPark.
