This kid understands what’s going on with our food. Give him a listen. It’s worth your time. Birke Baehr -“What’s Wrong With Our Food System? And How Can We Make A Difference?” Recently, Birke was a speaker at a Ted Conference. The annual TED conferences, in Long Beach/Palm Springs and Oxford, bring together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes). TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences — the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK each summer — TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and Open TV Project, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize. If you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend watching Food Inc. It’s on Netflix and can be watched instantly. If you would like more info about how to be more healthy and have a more fulfilling life, check out the following site. Look around a bit. It should give you some ideas. bit.ly Shoot me an email and let me know what you think sunandsage@wwdb.org
