What your Car Colour Says About You

Petrol prices are soaring again, and with the potholes that this winters bad weather has caused, there are a great deal of grumpy drivers on Britain’s roads. So, is anyone happy? Studies show that if there are any happy drivers left, they will be driving green cars. In fact, it tells us that if you are in possession of a mint coloured car, you will most probably have a positive attitude about your life on the whole, and be happier and healthier than everyone else. Other happy colours are dark blue and silver; often picked by upbeat and easy going individuals.

They study goes on to say that drivers who possess red cars have connotations of being aggressive and high speed personalities, which transfer to their driving, whilst yellow car owners tend to have sunny dispositions. But it does indicate however that those in possession of red or yellow cars have below average confidence. Black cars signal the blackest personalities, driven by downbeat drivers.

The study, conducted by the top bods in Oregon, USA, interviewed nearly 2000 people and asked then some questions to establish their moodiness. They were also asked what colour car they drove the most, and thus the scientists were able to assign a colour coding system to their moods.

There are better clinical indicators of mental health, but Art Spinella of CNW says car colour can be a useful “people-matching” tool.

He went on to say that people with moods that are mainly balanced tend to drive more sedate coloured cars, like silvers and greys, whilst more pulsed people drive bright, primary colours.

This survey has produced interesting findings, and I’m sure your Car Insurance company would tell you this; if there is someone in a red car behind you, get out of the way!
