Jon Klar, Recycling Outreach Coordinator, Office of Recycling Outreach & Education. His office works with residents and community groups to better understand the NYC recycling program and set up opportunities outside of the city program to reduce waste that goes to landfills. One of the primary ways they work with the community is to set up proper residential recycling areas in multifamily buildings, and then provide free workshop to residents of the building. Upon completion of the short workshop, they distribute a Blue (metal, glass, plastic) and Green (mixed paper)recycling tote bag to each apartment to make recycling at home easier.
