Despite many calls for bans and replacement of plastic bags, plastic bags are still popular in all corners of the world. This is because they are very useful in many applications that just can’t do without them, or where a replacement is logically impossible. The growth in plastic bag usage has not shrunk at all a bit given the fact that there are activist that are out to eradicate them.

The uses of plastic bags are plenty. Given their low production cost and the sheer quantity that can be churned out in a short space of time, they are very cost effective. Besides that, buyers can also have the manufacturers customize them into various shapes and sizes that fit the end user’s requirements. Shopping malls and departmental stores have all their logos printed on them as a form of marketing.

Up to today, plastic bags are still being used in departmental stores even though there are people who choose to use carry bags and other reusable packaging products. The convenience of alternatives is just too few as they involve rewash. Plastic bags are as durable and yet you can reuse them again if they are still clean, or throw them away into the recycle bin if you do not need them anymore. Having them recycled again is the best way to go about disposal of plastic bags.

The industry of plastic bag manufacturing is not showing signs of decline either. More and more marketers are using them as a form of viral marketing where their company message and logo are being printed on the shopping bags, thus their customers are able to show them around automatically. Besides, people who buy from them are likely to have peers which have the same interests in the same product. That’s targeted advertising too!

Plastic bags are also used in food industries despite the myth that they are poisonous and can contaminate food. There is such a thing known as food grade plastic material that is being widely used to manufacture packaging material in the food industry. Many plastic raw materials have already been approved by the FDA as well for being safe for food contact.

Other places where plastic bags are widely used are schools, offices, restaurants, air ports, bus terminals and even the common household. There is really no way to avoid seeing plastic bags being bought and used.

If you are a buyer of plastic bags, then the best thing you can do is to contact as many suppliers as possible for quotations as that will give you numerous prices to compare as well as assess the quality of each supplier. Remember, plastic bags are commodities that are useful worldwide and can be easily sourced at a cheap price!
