Hotelier’s step towards the eco green practices

In today’s world, environment has a vital role and many are trying out different thing to protect it from getting polluted. Environment and human are interrelated to each other. But human beings only are destroying the environment. They are playing with the environment without thinking of its effects. People around the world want to live a in a friendly environment but they are still finding the answer of how the can do this?

Hotels around the world have started taking steps for the betterment of the environment and to make it pollution free. Many hotels are following the mantra of “Clean & Green” and have started planting a lot of greenery around the hotel. To make the environment more friendly hoteliers have started following eco friendly practices. Many hotels have started using renewable items like reusable bags in place of plastic bags which are most harmful for the environment. Now you can find more colorful flowers around and inside the hotel premises. Instead of napkins they have started offering cloth mats to the customer to reduce the wastage of papers.

Hoteliers have giver major attention to cleanliness but with more of cleaning products which are environment friendly. Many hotels have implemented water conservation practices in the toilets and bathrooms.

Some of the major eco friendly practices which the hotels can adopt are –

• Recycling is the best way to protect environment from getting polluted.
• Keep a record of water and electricity been used and find out where ever it can be less used.
• Use environment friendly products in place of chemicals which are most harmful for the environment.
• Buy the needed items like food in a bulk.
• Use less voltage bulbs in places like lobby and guestrooms and also use energy efficient electric items.
• Use timers or sensor so that when there is not a need for the light it can get automatically switched off. Assign a person to look after each and every computers or any other machine at night and switch it of when not required.
• Encourage the staff members, other hotels and also the guests to participate in making eco friendly environment.
• Do not waste the left food and furniture’s. Donate it to the needful people.
• Provide recycler baskets to the guests and also to the staff for newspapers, glass, paper, plastics etc.
• Always buy organic products for the guests.
• Use reusable items like cloths napkin, glass cup etc for the guests.

There are many more ways of safeguarding environment from getting polluted. It’s just a matter of implementing these small little points. These small little points can create a difference between a friendly environment and a polluted environment.
Today many hotels have taken the initiative to lead the way for the other hotels to make the environment friendly and now it’s on the other hotels to follow the path. The day is not to far when the world will breathe in the eco friendly environment if all will walk on the same path.
