Today on this Beautiful but deceptively nippy Monday, I had the opportunity to catch one of Colorado Springs’ Locals. The Local here, as Derailedtrain666 likes to call it, The Mud Creek Local, runs every other day around 8:00AM to the industrial parks north of Colorado Springs. Todays power consisted of a freshly repainted Ex: SP GP40-2 and rolling stock featured a DRGW shoving platform (caboose) and a lone CSX 50′ Boxcar. this train goes along the Joint Line for several miles before joining up with Ex: Rock Island track and it’s industries. Today, they delivered this Boxcar to a Paper Recycling mill near Fillmore street. watch and see how our local handels on this fine President’s Day. BTW, does anyone know what horn that is?
