As we see today the condition of our mother earth, we are the ones to be blamed. We are to be blamed for the excessive and careless use of our natural resources and being ignorant towards the safe upkeep of the environment. Today we are facing shortage of resources especially coal, natural gas and petroleum and we exactly know why.

We can still act fast to meet with the shortages if we join hands and make a joint effort towards helping the environment. The question now arises as how do we do that? What is the first step towards helping the environment? For starters one can reduce the wastage of valuable resources and recycle products.

Recycling is one of those activities that need less effort and incredibly helps the environment. Studies say that around 75% of your daily garbage can really be recycled.

What is the main idea behind recycling? It is just turning your used products into new ones. The recycled products are just as good and new like the ones that are fresh manufactured from the factory. For example a recycled paper’s quality is as good as of original tree paper.

Most of the items that one can recycle are: Paper, plastic utensils, plastic bathroom utilities, furniture, tube lights, bulbs and many more.

Today plastic bottles are used everywhere in one product or the other, like juices, chemicals, medicines, etc. Plastic bottles make it easier for people to get the products lighter bottle than glass. We can effectively help the environment by recycling paper and bottles and keeping them off from our lands because plastic does not go away on its own or decompose and vanish in the air.

It hardly takes any efforts and time if we recycle our used products and in return we would be saving the environment in a great way. If we recycle there would be very less need for using our natural resources like oil because it takes oil to make those plastic bottles. By recycling plastic we can tremendously reduce the utilization of oil to produce plastic. Green house gasses can also be reduced because it takes more energy to make new bottles from oil. Every family must designate two bins, one for garbage and the other to recycle items and have children make a habit of recycling.

Besides paper and plastic, batteries are another essential item which is necessary to be recycled. Batteries contain harmful metals and chemicals like nickel cadmium, alkaline, mercury, nickel metal hydride and lead acid, which can contaminate and harm the environment if not disposed properly. For example, when batteries containing cadmium is used in landfills, they will sooner or later dissolve and release the toxic substance that can seep into water supplies, posing serious health hazards for the population. This is reason why recycling batteries also has become so important to help save the environment.

Many towns and cities have mandatory recycling programs. Junk removal companies are actively involved in reusing and recycling. These companies are aware of the public’s concern for the environment so they use this awareness for making good business.
