Food charity SecondBite www.secondbite.org collects fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy from retailers, wholesalers, markets and supermarkets, and redistributes it to people helping people in need. St Mary’s House of Welcome www.smhow.org.au stands with homeless and disadvantaged people to offer support, solutions and hope. SecondBite’s Food Program Manager, Russell Shields, and St Mary’s Day Centre Manager, Sr Rosanne Murphy, discuss the growth in demand for food and welfare services in Melbourne in 2009. This video was filmed outside St Mary’s in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy on 22 December 2009.
