Flanagan Engineers are introducing the Styromelt in Ireland on behalf of Connorco. This machine will reduce the volume of Polystyrene by 95% resulting in a product that can be traded on the open market. The majority of this waste material is currently ending up in landfills. This has to change as Polystyrene will not degrade over any reasonable time and it needs to be seen as a resource not a waste.
